Optoma announced its membership in OpenAV Cloud, a nonprofit industry initiative formed to accelerate the transition to open, cloud-based AV solutions. Optoma joins a growing coalition of leading AV companies committed to fostering open standards, seamless interoperability, and secure data access for customers worldwide.
With this step, Optoma strengthens its long-standing commitment to user empowerment and integration by enabling access to data across Optoma Management Suite (OMS) services, supporting open APIs, and contributing to industry-wide innovation in AV technology.
“The AV industry has reached a critical inflection point where customers demand openness, flexibility, and integration—they're no longer willing to be locked into proprietary systems," said Justin Halls, Chief Technology Officer at Optoma UK. "They want platforms to work together seamlessly, just like modern business applications integrate across ecosystems. By joining OpenAV Cloud, we're committed to delivering that vision through our Optoma Management Suite and ensuring our customers have complete control over their AV data and deployments."
OpenAV Cloud was created in response to the industry's growing need for cross-brand compatibility and cloud-based tools that break down the limitations of closed, proprietary ecosystems. The initiative is rooted in five key commitments:
- Customers first: Delivering flexible, choice-driven AV experiences across brands and platforms
- Open APIs: Developing and maintaining read-write APIs to support seamless integration
- Data access: Empowering customers to access and export their AV data freely
- Security & privacy: Adhering to strict data protection and cybersecurity standards
- Industry-wide inclusion: Welcoming all AV stakeholders who share OpenAV Cloud’s open-first values
"This initiative represents more than just technology advancement — it's about creating a better experience for our customers and ensuring the AV industry continues to thrive in the cloud era," Justin Halls added. "Whether deploying solutions in corporate boardrooms, educational environments, or entertainment venues, our customers deserve systems that work together effortlessly."
