Aurora Multimedia Announces Strategic IPBaseT Partnership with NETGEAR

Published on 2nd December 2025

Aurora Multimedia, one of the leading providers of advanced AV distribution solutions, and NETGEAR, one of the global leaders in networking solutions, announced a strategic partnership to integrate Aurora's groundbreaking IPBaseT technology with NETGEAR's M4250 and M4350 AV line switches. This collaboration delivers the scalability of AV over IP with the simplicity of HDBaseT, creating a comprehensive solution for enterprise audiovisual systems.

This partnership leverages the complementary strengths of both companies. NETGEAR's certified IPBaseT®firmware-capable M4250 and M4350 switches serve as the central hub that enables Aurora's IBT Series to create scalable matrix solutions up to 255x255 with 4K60 4:4:4 performance. These switches provide intelligent AV systems with enhanced flexibility and scalability while reducing cabling costs and improving maintenance efficiency. Aurora brings its expertise in AV distribution through its innovative IBT Series, featuring the IBT-1-BX box unit and IBT-1-WP1 wall plate unit, known for zero frame latency, low power consumption, and plug-and-play operation.

"This partnership represents another significant milestone in our mission of making AV over IP technology easier to deploy," said Richard Jonker, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at NETGEAR. "By combining Aurora's innovative IPBaseT® technology with our proven M4250 and M4350 switches, we're delivering a solution that eliminates complexity in configuring AV over IP, while maintaining enterprise-grade performance, security, and scalability."

The Aurora IBT Series represents a breakthrough in AV distribution technology. Each transceiver device can be configured as either a transmitter or receiver and addressed from 0 to 255, enabling flexible point-to-point connections, distribution amplification, or full matrix switching through simple multicast or RS-232 commands. The solution supports 4K60 4:4:4 with zero frame latency while consuming as little as 3 watts per device.

"The NETGEAR switches have become a staple product in AV, and now Aurora has made them the first Ethernet switches to run our IPBaseT Technology IBT Series products," said Paul Harris of Aurora Multimedia. "This partnership transforms standard network infrastructure into powerful AV distribution platforms."

Looking ahead, Aurora Multimedia and NETGEAR will deepen their cooperation to explore emerging technologies and applications in the smart AV domain. Guided by principles of openness, collaboration, and mutual success, the two companies aim to deliver superior solutions to global clients, jointly building a new era of smart audiovisual ecosystems that empower enterprises in their digital transformation journeys.
