Yamaha and Crestron Collaborate to Deliver Enhanced Hybrid
Meetings
Yamaha announced a new collaboration with Crestron to deliver the most natural, high
quality hybrid
meeting experience. The solution will pair Yamaha's ADECIA RM-CG ceiling array microphone
with
Crestron 1 Beyond intelligent cameras and the Automate VX multi-camera speaker tracking
solution.
Both companies are committed to delivering the best hybrid meeting technology for conferencing,
lectures, and any situation where people in different locations need to seamlessly interact.
Bringing together their high-end audio and visual technologies is an obvious way to achieve this.
The Yamaha RM-CG ceiling array microphone is equipped with multi-beam tracking, capable of following
the speech of up to four different speakers simultaneously. The beams automatically detect and track
the direction of the sound source simply by someone in the room talking, delivering clear,
high-quality voice reproduction for remote participants. With multiple mounting options, the RM-CG
can be installed in a wide range of environments.
Crestron Automate VX employs voice-activated switching to automatically frame speakers and switch
camera sources, orchestrating what remote participants users see on screen. The solution works with
multiple cameras around the room and with the 1 Beyond lineup, the image is captured in
high-resolution and up to 20x for the best picture. In-person contributors never have to think about
where to look when speaking, while remote participants always enjoy a clear view of everyone in the
room. This results in a better user experience in which non-verbal cues like eye contact, gestures,
and reactions are always visible, making meetings feel more naturally collaborative.
The combination of these technologies delivers an impactful sound and video experience, even in
large conference rooms, multi-purpose venues and other challenging spaces. It optimizes the sound
and vision for remote participants as natural as if they are in the same location as the
face-to-face participants. Most importantly, the system is very simple for end users to operate.
For installers, the Intelligent Video Room Designer from Crestron allows them to quickly and
intuitively configure where to install microphones and cameras to capture the best views with an
easy-to-use browser-based tool, with no need for complex commands. The RM-CG can be combined with
the Yamaha RM-CR remote conference processor to automatically optimize audio routing between devices
and make adjustments to suit the environment with a few simple clicks. Systems can be quickly scaled
for a variety of spaces, while Yamaha's Divide/Combine Room Wizard can be used to configure up to
four rooms for flexible layouts.
"Hybrid meetings are an essential feature of many businesses, and the desire to make them as natural
as possible continues to grow," says Thomas Hemery, Senior General Manager at Yamaha
Professional
Solutions. "By combining the Yamaha RM-CG with Crestron's intelligent video solutions, we can
seamlessly integrate high quality audio and video to deliver the most natural experience.
"We aim to develop further high-end hybrid meeting solutions with Crestron and look forward to
working more closely together as our partnership evolves."
Providing a mutually engaging conference experience for both in-room and remote participants is
essential in order to arrive at collaborative outcomes. It is imperative that the technology that
enables these experiences is purpose-built to deliver the best audio and video so that each
participant can equally be seen and heard", says Bob Bavolacco, Director of Technology Partnerships
at Crestron. "Our partnership with Yamaha will ensure that we deliver on these high impact user
experiences by providing the best voice activated camera and microphone solutions to make every
employee feel like a contributing part of their team, no matter where they are located."
