AVforValencia Launches Urgent Appeal To Help Those Affected
By The Valencia Floods
AV companies worldwide are being asked to donate so that money can be raised for immediate
assistance and long-term reconstruction
The AV community in Spain has announced the formation of #AVforValencia, an initiative that aims to
raise funds to support all those affected by the devastating floods that decimated Valencia on
October 29th, 2024.
#AVforValencia is working with other Valencia-based charities (including Fundación-In Jóvenes contra
el Cáncer and Casa Caridad) to provide direct assistance to all those affected by this unprecedented
natural disaster. All funds raised will be distributed through the “Unidos por Valencia†initiative,
which connects victims with volunteers and aid resources.
Over 200 people are known to have lost their lives in this disaster, which has also destroyed homes,
businesses, and infrastructure and left countless families heartbroken and homeless.
#AVforValencia is now calling on the AV community to support this urgent appeal so that it can
provide direct assistance to those who need it most. The money raised through donations will be
spent on immediate relief work, as well as long term reconstruction throughout the Valencia region.
"Valencia has been absolutely devastated by the DANA (Isolated High-Level Depression) that hit the
region at the end of October, leaving behind serious flooding and material damage," says Juan
Jose
Vila, CEO of Valencia-based AV business Equipson, who is spearheading the
AVforValencia initiative.
"We desperately need to raise money to help those affected by this dreadful crisis so that people
can get back on their feet as quickly as possible and begin to heal. We know that the AV community
has a big heart, and we are calling on all companies in our sector to join us in this critical
mission. Even a small gesture can make a big difference, so please, join us now, and support
Valencia in this time of need."
#AVforValencia has organised two donation options, both of which can be accessed through its
website. The first is for corporate
donations and the second is open to all individuals who would
like to offer financial help.
"Widespread recognition will be given to all companies that contribute towards this vital cause,"
Villa adds. "Even a small gesture can make a big difference, so please, join us now, and support
Valencia in this time of need."
