ALLWAVE VIRTUALLY DEPLOYS SMART CLASSROOM SOLUTION AT ISTITUTO MARANGONI MILAN (IMM)





Today, advanced AV technology has enhanced the learning experience for students. Virtual connect has been the need of the hour due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Acknowledging this, IMM approached Allwave-AV for their proficiency in creating a smart-classroom with the latest AV technology. IMM wanted to deliver live lectures efficiently and effectively while creating an interactive environment.

Project Owner: Istituto Marangoni Milan (IMM)

Istituto Marangoni is a private Italian school of fashion and design, Based in Milan, Lombardy, in Northern Italy. The institute’s Fashion and Design school have a unique blend of academic learning with creative and practical activities. It currently educates 4,000 students per year from 107 countries. The institute has schools operating in Paris, Milan, London, Mumbai, Miami, Shenzhen, and Shanghai.

IMM wanted to create a smart-classroom that engages its students outside the classroom dynamics and provides a positive learning experience while expanding their boundaries. It is essential to maintain a balanced collaboration between the students and faculty for an enhanced learning experience. This created the need to have a high-quality audio and video platform for teaching.

Challenge

Allwave-AV was engaged in providing AV Expertise Virtually to the institute to create a smart-classroom. To provide a system that delivers high-quality audio and video delivery that ensures clarity of images and crisp speech. The project involved creating a smart-classroom by incorporating tools that fit the faculty’s requirements. 

Solution:

Allwave-AV deployed a comprehensive solution that was collaborative and interactive. The team set up a simplified audio conferencing microphone solution MT600 Condor. The microphone has a built-in DSP that delivers a clutter-free audio experience designed for classrooms. It eliminates the need for wire or speakerphones and can easily configure with Zoom Rooms.

Projector: Epson EB-675W Ultra-Short Throw Classroom Projector
Whiteboard (Screen/Board): DA-Lite 25940-
Whiteboard Size: 3 ft. x 4 ft.
IMac: IMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017)
Cable: EP to RC Cable (From 3.5mm jack of iMac to Amplifier
Converter: USB to HDMI Converter (From iMac to Projector)


For the video conferencing solution, a Zoom Room was installed in the classroom, which is simple to set up, use, and manage. Zoom Room enables the user to share multiple screens and annotations, with quality audio and video conferencing, thus helping teachers to hold live lectures effectively. For a hybrid learning environment, the Logitech PTZ Pro 2 conference camera completed the video conferencing installation. The camera can pan, tilt and swivel, which can be controlled easily using a remote while walking around the entire room. The device delivers clear optics with a life-like video call experience that helps remote teachers and students to communicate efficiently. For optimized sound, Vector WRR Wall-mounted speakers and ADS Amplifier Spectra XL104 were the audio installations done. Wall-mounted speakers deliver a high-performance audio quality while the amplifier complements the audio clarity in the room. For enhanced learning, the Epson EB-675W Ultra-Short throw classroom projector was installed and to support the display systems a USB to HDMI Converter and EP to RC Cable were used.

Conclusion:

The interactive learning tools have enhanced workflow with simplified and increased AV solutions. The setup brings more flexibility at IMM and enables solutions with Zoom Room setup that deliver seamless video collaboration.

Technology has changed the traditional teaching methods the need for advanced learning has become significant in the past years. Innovative AV solutions have enhanced the classroom experience for teachers as well as students. The need for the latest AV solutions has lead businesses to successful collaboration.
