OPTOMA LAUNCHES NEW HIGH BRIGHTNESS 4K ULTRA HD PROJECTORS AND AN ULTRA-PORTABLE ML1050 PROJECTOR

Optoma has announced two new high brightness 4K Ultra HD professional installation projectors – the 4K550 and 4K550ST. The new models deliver 4K UHD images at 5000 and 4500 lumens respectively with the short throw lens of the 4K550ST image performance from as little as half a meter away. Designed for meeting rooms, simulators, and the corporate sector, as well as for CAD and architectural drawings where brighter, higher quality imagery and complex detail are needed, these projectors enable unscaled 4K UHD imagery.

Philip Watt, Commercial Product Manager at Optoma Europe, commented: “Optoma is the number-one selling 4K UHD projector brand worldwide. We’re excited to build on the success of our 4K UHD home projection range with the launch of our first 4K UHD professional installation models – the 4K550 and 4K550ST.These new models bring the benefits of high brightness 4K Ultra HD and a short throw to any professional installation or business presentation. With four times the resolution of 1080p and true to life color reproduction, these new models offer maximum clarity when displaying text and graphics.”

Featuring an advanced DLP single-chip design from Texas Instruments, 8.3 million pixels are delivered to the screen without the alignment issues found in some other technologies. Both models offer High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility, and the HDR10 open standard specification. The 4K550 features a 1.6x zoom projection lens and both projectors feature vertical lens shift for a quick and accurate installation – without the need for interchangeable lenses. RS232C and LAN connectivity enables simple integration and control via industry standards, including Crestron, IP Link, AMX and PJ-Link. Optoma has also unveiled the latest addition the ultra-portable LED projector range - ML1050ST+.

Kishan Mistry, Senior Product Manager at Optoma EMEA, said: “The ML1050ST+ brings the ultimate convenience and an easy set-up with its new auto-focus feature. Weighing in at just 450g, this 1000 LED brightness projector is perfect for individuals on the move.”With a short throw lens, the projector can project an impressive 100” image from just over a meter away from a screen or wall. This reduces the hassles of cables trailing across the room or shadows when presenting. The ML1050+’s compact casing can be used for wireless presentations from a laptop or mobile device using the WUSB wireless dongle (optional). The auto-focus and instant power on/off provide instant plug-and-play viewing on the move. It is ideal for digital signage as it can be mounted in virtually any orientation and can play video files directly from a micro SD card as soon as the projector is switched on. And the life of LEDs (30,000 hours) will ensure it stays clear and bright.
